....perhaps you are in need of a little self-care & self-compassion....
Self-compassion is a combination of kindness toward oneself,
the ability to let painful emotions be a part of one's life while recognising that everyone struggles with their difficulties.
Self-compassion includes self-awareness, self-acceptance, & mindfulness.
Self-compassion & self-care promote emotional resilience, reduces anxiety, anger and depression,
leads to better relationships & improved physical health.
You can learn to be self-compassionate because it is both a skill and an attitude.
Self-care is also a way of living.
Your Year of Self-Care
These evenings explore & develop the art of self-care & self-compassion. They are designed to help you be kinder to yourself. You will learn about how to rewire your brain away from self-attack towards self-acceptance, to practice mindfulness, learn some helpful meditations and to de-stress.
Each evening will be designed for self-care; a spa for your spirit, a place to rest, breathe and come home to yourself.
- Mindful Arriving ~ quietly sipping tea or cool water ~ letting yourself arrive in the room
- Orienting Meditation ~ a few minutes noticing being present to how you are in this moment
- Guided Meditation ~ bringing your awareness to the theme for the evening
- Shared Activity ~ processing what you have experienced, connecting it to the theme for the evening
- Closing Meditation ~ reflecting upon the evening, setting your intentions for self care
You can join this group anytime during the year.
The course runs on Monday evenings from 6.30-8.30pm from 30th January.
Term 1
30 January A taste of self-care...what is it & how will I know if I have it? This is a free 'taster' session.
6 February Mindfulness - simply noticing; breath, body, thoughts & feelings as the first step to self care
13 February Mindfulness of how we are towards ourselves ~ sensing for the right kind of care
20 February Simple daily mindfulness practices - finding time in your day for ntoicing you
27 February Wishing yourself well ~ Metta Meditation
5 March Creating a safe space ~ anytime, anywhere
12 March Resolving resistances ~ finding the care intended there too
26 March Calming Compassion Meditation 1
2 April Checking-in with yourself - asking how am I and what do I need? Listening beyond the first response.

23 April Finding your friend within - accompanying yourself
7 May Connecting to all time ~ a meditation of the art of getting a perspective
14 May Calming Compassionate Meditation 2
21 May Moving from self- criticism to compassionate self-correction
28 May Moving from guilt & blame to compassionate self acceptance & self responsibility
4 June Good? Bad? Who knows? Self-compassion with an open mind.
11 June We're all in this together ... touching into our common humanity - Metta Meditation 2
18 June Daily dilemmas...self-compassion for the ordinary irritations
25 June Finding balance - self compassion as a lifestyle - designing your daily practice
Terms 3 & 4 to be arranged with group.
Contribution is $20 per session.
